Obituary

It is with great sadness that the family of Margaret Simcox announces her passing on January, 25th, 2019, at the age of 97 years, with loved ones by her side.

She is lovingly remembered by her children, Linda and Dave (Carol); grandchildren, Doug (Stacey), Greg (Lindsey), Andrea (Jamie), Mia; great grandchildren, Carly, Jaxen, Haley, Elliana and Joshua; nieces, Bobbi (Craig); Teri (Len), Denise, Verla (Ron) as well as numerous other family and friends.

She was predeceased by her husband, Lindon; parents, David and Edith Dick; sisters, Marie, Bernice, Edith; and brother, Cliff.

Margaret was born in Wananesa, MB, resided in Vancouver, BC as well as St. Albert, AB.

Margaret was a kind soul and brought so much joy to all who knew her. She always enjoyed life and took great pleasure in many of the simple things. She loved curling, baking, walking, gardening, reading and visiting with family and friends. She loved her children and enjoyed telling stories of Linda and Dave growing up.

Margaret was healthy and active and was able to outpace the rest of her family well into her 90s. She was lovingly known as grandma to so many and she enjoyed watching her grandchildren and great grandchildren grow. A day at the park or sitting beside the pool watching everyone play and laugh was a favorite activity. Margaret loved her family so deeply and she enjoyed spending time together whether it was going out for dinner, on an adventure or to simply relax in the backyard and take in the beauty of the flowers.

Margaret had a beautiful smile, an amazing sense of humor a lovely laugh. She was a pillar in the family and her presence is going to be greatly missed. At her request, there will be no formal service. Margaret can be remembered through living as she did, that is, being kind to others, taking time to enjoy the beauty of life, loving unconditionally and being everyone’s grandmother regardless of family ties.

A special thank-you to all the Physicians, Nurses and Staff at Sturgeon Community Hospital, St. Albert Retirement Residence and Chateau Mission Court.

In Loving Memory of
Margaret Simcox
(Maiden: Dick)
