Obituary

Victor Julius Lesyshen passed away on Saturday, January 19, 2019 at the age of 85, at his home surrounded by family and in the presence of God. Beloved husband, father, brother, grandfather, and uncle; he will be forever remembered, sadly missed, and never forgotten.

He leaves behind his loving wife and soul mate of 37 years, Leda and all their children, Rick (Debi) Lesyshen, Carolyn Lesyshen, David Lesyshen; grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Anneliese McBride (Trevor) & Blakely and Bodie, Melissa Jenkinson (Sean) & Avery and Sophie, Tim Lesyshen (Sarah), Paul Lesyshen, Christopher Lesyshen (Dorothy) & Jonathan, Ava, and Dodge; step-children, Bonnie Lees (Gord), Laurie Huffman (Chris), Lynda Chichak; step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Elijah Chichak (Christina), Chase Chichak (Emily) & Emerson and Cole, Meghan Anderson (Travis) & Teagan and Tianna, Neill Lees (Kaitlyn) Brooklynn, Katie Wiebe (Nathan), Angelene Huffman (Jory), Maria Mills (Adam) & Gideon, Sarah Huffman (Mitchel); brother, Edward Lesyshyn (Vera); and sister, Eleanor Davies.

He was predeceased by loving mother, Anna Lesyshyn; and step-son, Brent Chichak.

Victor was born April 23, 1933 on a rural farm in Saskatchewan. In his youth he was involved as a reservist and later joined the Canadian Provost Corp. He spend 25 years with the Military Police being transferred and stationed to various posts across Canada and Germany along with peace keeping duties in Cyprus.

Victor raised 3 children during his military career and later remarried that brought 4 more children into his life. He enjoyed spending his time with his wife Leda, family, traveling, garage sales, and at their cottage by the lake.
