Gordon England

The family of Gordon Leroy England, of St Albert, is saddened to announce his passing on Thursday, December 20th, 2018 after a short battle with cancer. He was 89 years old.

Gordon was a longtime railroader who began his career with the CNR in the 1950s in Jasper, where he worked as a fireman and engineer. In the mid 1960s he transferred to Edmonton and worked out of Calder. After a few years he relocated to Kamloops and worked for the CN there until his retirement. He then returned to St Albert to be closer to his children and grandchildren. Gordon was a hardworking man who loved hunting, fishing, and anything that involved the outdoors.

Gordon is survived by his wife of 63 years, Wilma (nee Johnston); four sons, Ron (Joyce) of Edmonton, Don (Debbie) of Victoria, Cliff (Cathy) of St Albert and Kevin (Sharon) of Prince George; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Beverly Thomson of St Albert; and brother-in-law, Bill Johnston of Edmonton; numerous nieces and nephews and many, many friends.

Rest In Peace Gordon. You were a good, good man and you will be missed.

In Loving Memory of
Gordon England
