Our family helping your family since 1908 - Generations of Excellence

Muriel Hole

A beautiful, gracious lady whose warmth and genuine caring touched the hearts of everyone she met.

Mom was born to Irish immigrants and raised on a farm north of Edmonton. She started her education riding a horse to a one room school house with her three younger brothers, Alan, Ken and Vic in tow. Music was a big part of her life, from singing duets at talent shows with her brother Alan, to completing her grade 10 piano Royal Conservatory exam. Her love of music continued throughout her life, participating in the University of Alberta Mixed Chorus, playing the organ at church, singing in the church choir, and supporting the local arts community.

While at university attaining her B.Sc. in Nursing, she met the love of her life, Harry and thus began a lifelong romance. Dad was the first to recognize that Mom was the foundation behind his success. One of her greatest strengths was keeping people connected and making everyone feel valued. Her volunteer and charitable efforts are too numerous to mention. Mom was the silent hands behind the task.

Mom loved summers at the lake, Sunday dinners and spending time with her grandchildren. She was an inspiration to all who knew her, and her legacy will live on in all of us.

She was predeceased by Harry in 2013 and is survived by her four grateful daughters, Elaine (Bjarne) Pedersen, Mary (John) Robbins, Janice (David) Kent and Karen (Doug) Cox. Lifeís dividends were her 13 grandchildren, Taylor, Lauren and Karin Pedersen (Levko Koper), Marc, Sean, Kevin and Jeff Robbins, Rob, Daniel and Sarah Kent, Ben, Mariel and Alison Cox. She will also be missed by sisters-in-law, Ada Hole, Elizabeth Baker, Eileen Sweetnam, Joyce Sweetnam, brother-in-law, Jim Hole, numerous nieces, nephews and many special friends.

We are exceedingly thankful to Momís special angel and caregiver, Phoebe Abaclod. We are forever indebted to her wonderful physician, Dr. Sandra Kavanagh. Thank you to all the other amazing caregivers who brought her journey to a gentle end.

A celebration of Murielís life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 1st, 2018 at Holy Trinity Anglican Church, 10037-84 Ave NW, Edmonton.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to www.osteoporosis.ca; the Alberta Chapter, P.O. Box 30483 Chinook, Calgary, Alberta, T2H 2W2.
