Obituary

Doris Beatrice Olson passed away with peace and grace April 13, 2018 at the age of 87 years at Jasper Place Continuing Care.

She was born March 19, 1931 in La Broquerie, Manitoba but grew up in Fort Frances, Ontario with her parents, Wilfred and Yvonne Tremblay. She is survived by two of four siblings who are Denise Ward, living in Chandler, Arizona and Bill Tremblay, living in Las Vegas, Nevada. She was married to Stanley Irwin Olson for 62 years until he passed away November 12, 2010.

Doris was a woman with multiple interests and talents. She played competitively on a bowling team in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario from 1962 to 1965. When the family moved to Mattawa, Ontario, she was on a curling team from 1966 to 1970. When the family moved to DeQueen, Arkansas due to Stan's work, she took on a job as an aid in DeQueen Hospital. When not competing or working, she was an incredible homemaker who was known for her cooking, knitting and sewing.

In addition to a loving wife, she was a caring mother of three children: Michael and Elaina Olson of Edmonton, Alberta as well as Yvonne Kobler of Victoria, British Columbia. She was also a loving grandmother to three grandchildren. She will always be remembered as a kind, caring and compassionate person.

She was a wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend who was greatly admired and loved. She will be missed.

In Loving Memory of
Doris Olson
