Obituary

It is with sadness that we say our goodbyes to Reg but we are also happy that he has no more pain and is home in heaven with God.

He will be lovingly remembered by his beloved wife of 54 years, Evaline; son, Lyndon (Tina); grandson, Isaak; Goddaughter, Barbara; sisters, Ina and Sharlet; brothers, Rodney (Loraine) and Bruce; sister-in-law Emma; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

Reg spent many years employed in seismograph (research for oil).

His first job was done with horses and the crew he worked with lived in tents. His managers saw his strong work ethic and soon he was sent to Houston, Texas, to learn the process of seismograph, and eventually more technical work. That work would take him around the world to exotic places as far off as South America, Libya and Australia. He also worked in Northern Canada and moved up to crew manager.

After he returned to Canada he met Evaline and they were married. He was then dispatched to England to learn more and work in the field. He was also sent to Saudi Arabia to explore for oil. Evaline accompanied him there and they made their home in Jeddah on the Red Sea, later moving to Beirut where their son Lyndon was born. Reg continued to work in Saudi Arabia for five years. On return to North America, he worked in several locations in both Canada and the USA.

After retirement Reg spent his time golfing, being a handyman around his church (and everywhere else!) and visiting with family and friends. But his biggest joy in life was when he became a grandfather to Isaak. From that day forward Isaak and Grandpa seemed to share the same heart and they taught us all how to love another person.

We will all miss Reg's gentle smile, his laugh, his joy and his kindness.

We would like to thank the Royal Alexandra Hospital nurses and doctors for their great care.

A Celebration of Regís Life will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 10, 2018, at Connelly-McKinley Funeral Home, 10011-114 Street, Edmonton.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Cross of Christ Lutheran Church of the Deaf or to STARS Shock Trauma Air Rescue - Edmonton Base.

Goodbye. Iíll see you in Heaven - John D. Rockefeller, Sr.

In Loving Memory of
Reginald Ulmer
