Our family helping your family since 1908 - Generations of Excellence

Edward Christophers

Edward (Ted) Christophers of St. Albert passed away February 22, 2017 following a valiant battle with cancer. He will be deeply missed by his wife of 53 years Grace, daughter Sandy (Mark MacDonald), son Sean (Florence) and his cherished grandchildren (Matthew, Claire, Chelsea and Skye). He was predeceased by his sister Nikki, his mother Gladys and father Nick (Lidia). Ted will be lovingly remembered by his brother Alex (Bonnie), nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and close friends.

Ted was born in Edmonton on November 27, 1940. He attended Eastwood School and Eastglen High School in Edmonton before attending the University of Alberta where he met his wife, Grace. Ted earned a Bachelor of Commerce Degree in 1964 and worked for the City of Edmonton until his retirement in 1993.

Ted and Grace were married in 1964. Family was the major focus in Tedís life. He was always a supportive parent and spent many hours driving and patiently waiting while his children participated in a variety of activities. He especially enjoyed hosting holiday gatherings and visiting with family and friends. Ted was community-minded and served as a volunteer with Scouting, Special Olympics and Habitat for Humanity. His work at Habitat was especially satisfying to him. He was proud to be a member of the Grand Lodge of Alberta and thoroughly enjoyed the fellowship of his brothers at Dominion Lodge and North Star Chapter.

During recent years, Ted and Grace traveled to many parts of the world where Ted took advantage of every opportunity to engage people in conversation so that he could learn about their lives and culture. He also enjoyed visiting many archeological sites and historical landmarks around the world.

We will remember his kindness, his decency and his zest for life. We are grateful for the support of family and friends and the staff at the Sturgeon Hospital for their compassionate care.

In Loving Memory of
Edward Christophers
