It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the sudden passing of Karl Hauptman of St. Albert, AB on January 2, 2017.

He will be lovingly remembered by his sons: Richard (Janet) and John (Shirley); daughter Katherine Kasia (Dave) Seddon; Brother: Walter Hauptman; grandchildren: Tureena, Mariah, Joseph, Karly, Lisa, Tammie, Ian, Scott and Veronica; 11 great-grandchildren as well as numerous relatives and friends.

He was predeceased by his loving wife of 29 years, Annette; 7 brothers and 3 sisters, and parents Antoni and Katarzyna.

Karl was born in Potoki, Poland. After WWII, he immigrated to Canada and settled in St. Albert on January 13, 1948. Over the next 69 years, Karl engaged in various business ventures, namely operating a chicken farm, a radio repair shop, a motel and three fast food restaurants, which included the first drive through restaurant in St. Albert, the Klondike Inn. Karl also served for many years as a director with the St. Albert Chamber of Commerce, Chairman of the St. Albert Parish Finance Committee and as a member of the Knights of Columbus. He was also an avid curler, golfer and father extraordinaire.
