Obituary

In the early hours of May 9th 2016, Joanna Lynn McDonald passed away after a 5 year battle with breast cancer. She leaves behind her best friend and daughter, Lindsey (Robin); her partner, John DeHoog (Johnathon, Jaimeson and Kelley with son Ashton, Tayten, Landon, Geoff, and Casey); her parents, Don and Sharon McAlpine of Princeton BC; her sister, Sandy McAlpine, niece Christina, and nephew Brandon (Leah) all of Edmonton, AB. Also mourning her passing is Lindsey's father, Fraser McDonald (Danijela) of Milton, ON; sister-in-law, Janice (Brian) Nichol and their children: Gabbi and Tamara of Vernon BC; and mother-in-law, Olive McDonald of Vernon BC. Joanne was predeceased by her father-in-law, Gordon McDonald in November 2013.

There was nothing Jo loved better than to travel the highways with Lindsey on the many adventures they went on. Lindsey was her deepest love. They were best friends and could talk about everything and anything. She cherished the girl's vacations and the countless hours of talking. Whenever they were together at home or away they would talk the night away. Jo was also passionate about riding her Harley. Together with her partner and soul mate John, they shared many adventures on their bikes with the sun in their face, an open road ahead, and not a care in the world. Jo was adored by those near and far and leaves many saddened in the Edmonton and lower British Columbia mainland area. A special thank you to Connie and Jeff Howard, Michele and Steve Friesen and Leanne and Dave Hillsdon for the amazing support and love to Joanne, Lindsey and John over the past years.

A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m., on Thursday May 19, 2016 at Connelly-McKinley St Albert Funeral Home, 9 Muir Drive, St. Albert.

In lieu of flowers, donations would be encouraged in Joanne's name to afreshchapter.com a registered Canadian Charity that supports those who have been touched by cancer to volunteer in areas around the world. Joanne volunteered in New Delhi, India in 2013

In Loving Memory of
Joanna L. McDonald
