Obituary

It is with great sadness the family of Steve Hero announces his passing on April 10, 2016 at the age of 88 years.

He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 55 years, Kathleen; children, Kathy, Caroline, Susan and Reverend Stephen Hero; as well as other relatives and friends.

Born in Papa, Hungary, Steve came to Canada in 1930 in the arms of his parents and settled in Montreal. He was grateful for the early Education provided by the Christian and Presentation Brothers. Faith was central to his life together with his family. He was a devoted husband and proud Father. A 47 year career with the TD Bank brought him many opportunities that would lead the family from Montreal to settle in Edmonton for many happy years.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am on Friday, April 15, 2016 at St. Joseph’s Basilica, 10044 – 113 Street, Edmonton followed by interment at Holy Cross Cemetery, 14611 – Mark Messier Trail, Edmonton.

The family wishes to express heartfelt thanks to the nursing staff at the University of Alberta Hospital for their care and compassion.

Those who so wish may make donations in memory of Steve to the Mazankowski Heart Institute or to St. Joseph’s Seminary.

In Loving Memory of
Louis Stephen "Steve" Hero
