Our family helping your family since 1908 - Generations of Excellence

Garrett Green

It is with profound sadness, tempered with peaceful relief, that we announce the passing of this wonderful, gentle man.

Garry was a devoted husband to Jeannine (LaFrance) for 53 years, and a loving father to Michelle (Jim Doran). Garry was also a brother, an uncle, a nephew, a cousin and a friend - he was easy to know and to love. He had a wry sense of humour - he loved to laugh and loved to make others laugh along with him. Garry's feline family members were also an important part of his life.

Garry worked his entire career with Crane Supply where he forged many life-long friendships. His greatest passion, though, was the game of golf - he was a member at the Windermere GCC for nearly 40 years. He was on the course several times every week and cherished the time with his golfing buddies, especially their annual golf trips to Jasper. His clubs were with him wherever he travelled to in the world, including playing the round of a lifetime at St. Andrews in Scotland.

Garry is also survived by his sister Sally (Jim) Cooley and her family, his uncle Jack (Annette) Green and his family, cousin Janice (Dave) Symon and her family, special niece Hilary (Tim) McGuire, nephews, and other extended family.

He was predeceased by his parents, Agnes and Harold, and his brother, Dennis.

Special thanks to the staff at Capital Care Grandview for their attentive care paid to Garry during the last year and a half and to Garry's long time friend and golf partner, Doug Densmore, for his support.

Cremation has taken place and, as per Garry's wishes, there will be no formal service. Instead, he would want you to raise a glass or two in his honour at the 19th hole. Rest in peace, Garry. Donations to the Capital Care Foundation or the Edmonton Humane Society would be appreciated.

That best portion of a good man's life, His little, nameless, unremembered acts Of kindness and of love. - Wordsworth.

In Loving Memory of
Garrett Green
