Obituary

With a deep sense of sadness, our family announces the passing of our mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Margo Brandle on February 11, 2016 at the age of 89.

Margo will be fondly remembered as a spirited, loving and thoughtful woman by all. Remembered dearly by her daughters: Barbara (Allan), and Elaine (David); grandchildren: Kiel, Trevor (Kelly), Tim (Sher), Scott (Jamie), and Laura (Liam); and great granddaughter, Grace.

She was predeceased by her husband, George; brothers: Lou and Emile Dussault; and many family and friends.

Margo was born an Albertan and lived here her entire life. She was raised on a farm near Vimy, where she learned the value of hard work. On her own, Margo moved to Edmonton to advance her education, another principle which she held dear. She completed a bookkeeping program which then led her to a lifelong career in accounting and business. She retired from Alberta Health Care as a supervisor.

In those years, Margo developed many strong friendships that remain still. Her life was guided by those principles, but exemplified by her support for her grandchildren’s education and successes. Her interest in her grandchildren was a constant inspiration for stories and encouragement. No one could be more proud of her family than Margo was. Her involvement and interest in her grandchildren’s lives was never ending.

Margo moved to St. Albert in 2000, which allowed her to be close to her family. She lived many happy years in Mission Hill Village, where she enjoyed the company of many close friends and social involvement. Margo was always a caregiver, with many family members and close friends the recipients of her attention and love. She was the “rock” that held her extended family together as each took different life directions. She will be missed by many.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Margo’s name to STARS, Alberta Shock Trauma Air Rescue Service Foundation, Suite 100, 1519 - 35 Avenue E, Edmonton International Airport, AB, T9E 0V6 or Stollery Children’s Hospital Foundation, 1502, 8215-112 Street NW, Edmonton, Alberta T6G 9Z9.

In Loving Memory of
Marguerite (Margo) Brandle
