Our family helping your family since 1908 - Generations of Excellence

Edward Eugene Maksymic

“Can it be that in a world so full and busy, the loss of one weak creature makes a void in any heart so wide and deep that nothing but the width and depth of eternity can fill it.” Charles Dickens

Eddie (81 years) took his final road trip on January 25, 2016 to meet up with his beloved son Kerry who died in 1994. For 55 years he had the love of a good woman, Terry was by his side in unending adventures and entrepreneurial pursuits. He was a pioneer in steel buildings and built and supported many industries across North America.

Papa Ed inspired and guided us through his actions and the values he lived by; creative, entrepreneur, resourceful, generous, adventurous, passion for excellence and most of all a love for all the people he met and touched. When asked, Ed always spoke about how proud he was of his family, friends and co-workers but never about himself.

Our planner/problem solver will be sorely missed by daughters: Sherri (Brian) Koziol, Nolan and Jared, Carmen (Mitch) Maksymic-Fix, Mackenzie and Dawsen; and daughter-in-law: Debbie Maksymic, Jordan (Ashley) and Ryan. Survived by sisters: Mary (Mike) Yeremy, Terry (Dan) Brisson, Lorrie Maskwa; and sisters-in-law: Elsie McGee and Patricia Lee. Predeceased by parents, John and Josephine.

We were supported by many through dad's illness including his cousins Chris and Bob Maksymic and medical professionals Donna Irvin, Sheila Giraud and Lisa Devos. We won't forget your many acts of kindness.

Sincere thanks to Dr. Riaz and Dr. Ryan and the incredible Unit 28 staff at the Sturgeon Hospital who engaged his quick wit. In memory of Ed, donations may be made to Unit 28 at the Sturgeon Hospital Foundation, 201 Boudreau Road, St. Albert, AB, T8N 6C4.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, February 6 at 3 p.m. at North Pointe Church, 14025 – 167 Avenue NW, Edmonton with Pastor Bob officiating.

In Loving Memory of
Edward Eugene Maksymic
