Our family helping your family since 1908 - Generations of Excellence

Edith Maggie Peter

It is with heartfelt sadness that we announce the passing of our dear Edith “Edie,” after battling cancer for three years with unfailing courage.

She was the oldest daughter survived by her loving parents: Elisabeth (Betty) and Francis Peter.

Edith leaves a treasured memory cherished by her family; son, Curtis; daughter, Ashley; her sister, Doris & brother-in-law, Doug Hoban; and her companion, Dennis Tomlinson.

Edith was a very kind, gentle soul and a wonderful daughter, mother, sister and friend. She worked for Telus for 25 years ending her career there in Major Accounts. She then worked for the City of Edmonton Roadways at the Central Yard. Edith loved to explore everything that the world had to offer. She was an avid skier, traveller and member of the Athlone Wine Club. She enjoyed spending time with her son and daughter, parents, sister, “Lucky Bird” and weekends at the lake with friends.

All who knew her understand her uniquely compassionate nature and exceptional honesty. She was incredibly kind, generous and loving; who sacrificed her own needs to make things better for others. Her good humour and love for life allowed her to radiate in social circles. She continues to live on in the hearts of all she touched. We will never ever forget you our darling Edie!

The family would like to extend their thanks to the outstanding care and support from the team on unit 31 and all the staff at the Cross Cancer Institute. Special thanks to Dr. Joy and Dr. Hajar.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Cross Cancer Institute, 11560 University Ave NW, Edmonton AB, T6G 9Z9.
