Our family helping your family since 1908 - Generations of Excellence

Norman Joseph Gideon Lamothe

It is with heavy hearts that the Lamothe family announces the sudden passing of Norm at the age of 72.

From a family of 12 siblings raised by a strong woman, Norm taught the importance of hard work, love, and friendship. Always there to lend a hand, or a shoulder to lean on, Norm was there for all who knew him. He worked his way through the trades and became an electrician as a young man. Starting his own company and becoming a proud member of the IBEW. Norm then went on to work with Dillingham International for 20 years as a major player in the formation of much of the industry throughout western Canada. After a major career change, Norm worked as financial adviser with the Investors Group. With his personal skills and his ability to never forget a name or a face he went on to have a very successful career. With all his life experiences, Norm was a man who could do it all and no matter the task he was never more than a phone call away. With a passion for sport, Norm grew up playing hockey, becoming an avid skier both on snow and water. He was an amazing curler and a fan at many a briar. Whether NHL or CFL he rarely missed a game. A true Canadian sports fan.

Pre-deceased by his parents Greg and Helen; brothers, Louis, Greg, Roger, Robert, and Henry; sisters, Helen and Josephine; and his son Chris. Norm leaves behind his wife of 41 years Jutta;, son, Norm (Melissa); and granddaughter, Olivia; sisters, Olive and Denise; brothers, Art and Rene; and over 100 nieces and nephews.

A service will be held Saturday, March 7, 2015 at the Sacred Heart Church at 1:00 p.m., 10821 96 Street, Edmonton, AB. The family asks that in lieu of flowers donations be made to the Alberta Lung Association.
