Kathleen Kennedy

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of our wonderful mother and our fatherís loving wife. Kathleen Grace Kennedy left this world peacefully on October 19, 2014.

Kae was born on August 8, 1926, in Elk Point, Alberta. She was the youngest of five children born to Mary and Robert Bradshaw. Her parents and siblings all left this earthly life before Kae but we are confident they were at the gates of heaven to welcome her home.

Kae grew up in Beauvallon and moved to Edmonton when she was twenty to pursue a career in banking. She met Thomas Kennedy at a Christian Youth Organization dance and married him in September of 1954. They maintained a strong, devoted, loving marriage for sixty years. Their marriage created four wonderful people: Mary Kennedy, Monica Comba (Garth), Karen Perry (Mark), and Kevin Kennedy (Terry). Kae was also closely involved in the raising of her dear nephew, Raymond Hegerat. She was the creator of many marvellous memories for her three grandchildren, Thomas Comba, Meredith Comba, and Nathaniel Kennedy.

The family now has memories to sustain them. They can remember camping in the early years, and weekends spent at the family lake cabin. In later years memories were made in Hawaii or the warmer climate of Arizona. Wherever mom went she made friends for she always viewed people not as strangers but as potential new friends.

Five years ago Kae was diagnosed with Alzheimerís disease. She spent the last three years of her life at the Gerald Zetter Extended Care Hospital. The family would like to thank Dr. Grynoch and the staff for the loving care they extended to our mother.

In lieu of flowers we ask that you remember Kae by making a donation in her name to the Alzheimerís Society at 10531 Kingsway Avenue, Edmonton, T5H 4K1.

In Loving Memory of
Kathleen Kennedy
