Our family helping your family since 1908 - Generations of Excellence

Glen James Donlevy

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved son and brother, Glen, at the age of 51 years. He exhibited great strength and dignity during his illness and was surrounded by his immediate family in the end. We know he is now free and at peace.

Glen is survived by his father Jim (Elaine), his brother Keith, his sister Lisa (Randy Stollery), his brother Sean, his stepsisters Charlynn Parry (Allan, son: James), Terra Gregory (daughter: Michala), his beloved niece Krista (Neil Powter), and numerous extended family, friends and colleagues.

Glen was predeceased by his grandparents and his mother, Euni Mattson.

Glen devoted his life to education and the pursuit of knowledge. He had a deep love of politics, history, travel and music. Glen started his teaching career in 1993 at Wetaskiwin Regional Schools and took a sabbatical to earn his Masters in Education in 2008. During the past year, Glen volunteered while on LTD and took great delight in working with his students and fellow colleagues at Griffiths-Scott Middle School in Millet, AB. We thank them for making his time at school so rewarding and enjoyable.

The family would like to thank the Cross Cancer Institute and the Palliative Care Unit 43 at The Grey Nuns for their professionalism and compassionate care of Glen.

A Celebration of Glenís Life will be held on Saturday, August 23, 2014 at 2:00 pm at Connelly-McKinley Funeral Home, 4820 Meridian Street, Edmonton (Meridian Street can only be accessed heading SOUTH on Hwy 216 (Anthony Henday); the access is 1 km south of the Sherwood Park Freeway on Hwy 216.)

Memorial donations would be gratefully accepted to the Alberta Cancer Foundation or for two Citizen Award Scholarships being established in Glenís name at his school. Cheques may be made payable to "Wetaskiwin Regional Public Schools" and then write "Glen Donlevy" in the memo line. The school district will give tax receipts for any amount over $20.00.

In Loving Memory of
Glen James Donlevy
