She then studied physical education at McGill University in Montreal. After teaching phys ed at a private school in Toronto, Lucille became Director of Womenís Physical Education at the University of Saskatchewan. She married Rev. Douglas L. Berry in 1947. While raising three children, they served a number of United Church congregations in Saskatchewan and Alberta, settling in Sherwood Park in the mid-60s. Lucille and Doug had a long and active retirement, spending 16 winters in Arizona and traveling widely on four continents. During those years, Lucille proudly created many paintings, needlepoint and other works of art. Throughout her life and well into her 80s, Lucille was an accomplished vocal soloist. She enjoyed many friends and activities at Grace United Church and Fulton Court in her later years. Special thanks to the Ladies of Grace and friends from the Red Hat Society for all their kindness to Lucille.
