Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Anne Ada Alice Lothian. Anne was born in Egremont, Alberta and moved to Edmonton in 1939. Anne is survived by her brother, Jim (Bernadette); nieces and nephews, Mary (Darin) Koleman, Cathy (Bob) Beacham, Dorothy (Jan) Vantunen, James (Mew) Lothian, Anthony, Bernadette Lafleur and Elizabeth (Duane) Janssen as well as 31 great nieces and nephews. She also leaves behind her best friend, Ralphina (Sheridan) McLeod and extended family, Kari Anne (Duane) Lagadyn and Kathleen (Fred) Van Herk and their children. She was predeceased by her mother and father Jim and Ada Lothian (nee Payne). She had many friends in Edmonton and was involved in sports all her life. She enjoyed golf, skiing, cross country skiing, speed skating, curling and bowling. Anne loved to travel in her younger years and spent many years coaching Girls softball as well as being a Girl Guide Leader and was involved with the C.W.L. She worked for many years for the Edmonton Catholic Schools as a school secretary retiring in 1989. A Prayer Service will take place on Monday, August 20, 2012 at 7:00 p.m. at Annunciation Catholic Church, 9420 - 163 St., Edmonton. Rev. Martin Pasala and Rev. Vincent Hawkswell will concelebrate a Funeral Mass on Tuesday, August 21, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at the same location. In memory of Anne, donations may be made to Sign of Hope, 8815 - 99 St., Edmonton, AB, T6E 3V3.
