Amy Nash

With great sadness we announce the passing of Amy Nash on Friday, August 10, 2012 at the age of 83. Amy is survived by her loving husband, Peter; daughters Marilyn and Kathy (Tom Gooden); sons Timothy (Bonnie) and James (Lorraine); grandaughter Hannah; and her brother Carl. She was predeceased by her sisters Anne Stelmack and Rosemarie Stodola. Amy was born at St. Michael, Alberta and grew up on the family farm nearby. After moving to Edmonton with her parents and graduating from high school, she completed her Bachelor of Education with a Home Economics specialization in 1950. Amy taught for four years in Drumheller before marrying Peter and settling in Edmonton. She then spent many happy years raising her family of four, and indulging them and herself with her love of cooking and sewing. As her children grew up, Amy went back to work again with the Edmonton Public Library and enjoyed extensive world travels with Peter. She also loved being a grandmother and spent countless happy hours accompanying Hannah on her various extra curricular activities. Amy was also very involved in her church, St. John the Evangelist, participating in various capacities with the CWL. In her last years, Amy was active in the Caring Ministry, visiting residents in Canterbury Court, tending to their library needs and assisting with First Friday Masses
