Our family helping your family since 1908 - Generations of Excellence

Isabella Drinkwater

Ella was a truly loving person. She loved babies and knitting, dogs and cockatiels, chocolate gingers and ice-cream, lunches with friends and singing. She sang beautifully. Ella loved her home. Her childhood memories of Scotland were precious to her and the many years spent in England were happy and fulfilling. In her later life she was a proud Canadian. Ella loved her many friends. She was always hospitable and humorous, comforting and caring. The friends she made were her friends for life. Ella loved her family. She spoke often and with deep feeling of her mother and father who died when she was a young woman and who left her with the responsibility for the care and nurturing of her twelve year old brother, Jimmy, her ten year old sister, Mabel and her infant sister, Joan. She was a loyal and loving wife to Cecil and a caring and wonderful mother to Peter. Her grandchildren John and Sarah were her joy. Their mother, Millie, was her friend. Her niece Ann and her family, and her nephew Arthur and his children were precious to her. She loved her sister Joan and her brother-in-law John. Ella was a person of integrity and courage, dignity and kindness. She enriched the lives of everyone who knew and loved her.
