Condolences

My significant recollections of Tom, was his recognition for the need and importance of locally developed technologies and businesses, first in the oil patch and later as a cabinet minister. While at Shell he went out of his way to support my invention and development of the COROD oil well pumping system. At that time there was an aversion to the development of locally based technology and in government he worked hard to diversify Alberta's economy including his efforts to help financing Alberta based enterprises.

I wish to convey my deepest sympathy on the death of your wonderful father, grandpa and greatgrandpa. Tom Chambers was my boss for 2 years when I served as his executive assistant in 1981 to 1983. In all of my 60 year working career I never had a better boss. He was always very kind, compassionate and never lost his temper. He had a brilliant mind and was the best minister in the Lougheed cabinet. In later years when I semi retired I became an author writing three books all of which were nominated for the Governor General's Literary Award. In my second book, "Lost Paradise",Tom was my advisor on petroleum engineering and exploration. My main character, Emily became a petroleum engineer supervising the Redwater oil fields. It was Tom Chambers who gave me all the information on how oil is found in certain locations and what a petroleum engineers job is all about from his experience. I will forever be grateful for having met, working with and being a friend of this great man. Your mother Lenore was also very kind to me in all the years I knew her. God bless both their souls and may they be rewarded in heaven. Sincerely Molly Anne Warring
