Condolences

Mr. Yahn was my accounting Prof at NAIT in 1985. Mr. Yahn and Mr. Joe Childs were my two favorite profs who always made us young adults feel welcome and important. My son started University this year and I was telling him about Brian and some of the great stories, wonderful charm and great sense of humour he brought to accounting, a skill hard to do. One of my clearest memories is of Brian stating the superiority of the Datsun 280zx over the Toyota Supra. It was a constant theme, I believe his brother had a Supra, which Brian thought and correctly so, was not a true sports car. Iím sad to hear he is no longer with us, he always brought a smile to my day, sometimes when I needed most.

Our condolences to Brian's family. We were both colleagues of Brian at NAIT, and remember him well. He was an excellent instructor and mentor to many students and staff, and he will be missed. Ernie Jacobson and Gioia Sallustio

My deepest sympathy to Brian's family. It is so sad that such a wonderful man like Brian had to leave so soon. He was a dear friend and I loved him very much. Heaven gains another angel. Brian please kiss my sister Janice for me as she left too only a few weeks ago. Ryan and Sarah, I am so sorry and may the love you had for your dad sustain you through this difficult time.

My deepest condolences to you Maria and family. My heart goes out to you all during this very unexpected and shocking time. Brian was one in a million. I worked closely with him when I first started at NAIT and truly enjoyed his offbeat sense of humour. He was a gentle soul who cared about his students and always went that extra mile to ensure their success. His presence in this world will be missed.

I am so sorry about the loss of such a wonderful person. My sympathies go to his whole family. I started teaching with Brian at the same time at NAIT back in 1980, and have been pleased to work with him again for the last few years at Camosun College. He will be greatly missed.

I was so sorry to learn of Brian's passing. He was one of the greatest people who I encountered and worked with at CGA Alberta. Early in my volunteer days with CGA Brian was a wonderful mentor and advocate. Not only did I learn a great deal from him, but he helped me go out and try "it". Later on, Brian's smile always brightened the room whenever we met at CGA functions. He was one of the wisest and kindest gentlemen I had the privilege of working with.

Brian will be missed by all of us at NAIT. He always had a smile on his face and was a pleasure to work with. His optimism and dedication to student and colleague success was infectious and we are all better for knowing Brian.

I worked with Brian for many years in CST at NAIT and got to know him well enough that he happily did our family's income tax returns for many years, and also recommended Elizabeth to help us with buying & selling houses, and also hooked us up with Ryan who did some great concrete work for us long ago. Condolences to his family and others close to him - I can't think of anyone who met him who didn't like him!
