Dear Julian Lang, Dear President Henry Lang, Dear Bereaved Family of Janina Lang, It was with great sadness that I learned of the passing of our colleague Janina. This is a huge loss for our entire Association. Janina survived the forced deportation to Siberia and the Soviet gulags to become the wife of a hero of the battle of Monte Cassino, mother of a long-term President of Branch No. 6 of SPK in Edmonton, and grandmother and great-grandmother of the future of our Association and the Polish Diaspora in Canada. A long-time member of the Ladies Auxiliary and Branch No. 6 of SPK in Edmonton, faithful parishioner of Holy Rosary Church, loyal Girl Guide, vocalist in the seniors’ choir "Polish Flowers" and a social activist, she was completely devoted to her work for the good of SPK and for a free and independent Poland. With her departure, Polonia has lost an eminent social worker and a wonderful woman whom we will always admire as an true example of patriotism. Departing for her "last post", she leaves behind a beloved family and dear friends, with whom we unite at this time of grief. I have fond memories of our personal chats and the many encounters at ceremonies and commemorations at “Dom Polski” in Edmonton. I always thought of Janina as a living history and a constant reminder of what unites our Association. On behalf of myself, the Head Executive Board and the National Council of SPK in Canada, and all members of the SPK in Canada, I convey our deepest sympathy on the death of our friend Janina, and attest the highest respect and recognition of her work for the good of our Association, Canada and Poland. Honour her memory! Andrzej Ruta National President Polish Combatants’ Association in Canada

We were very sad when we read about Janina passing. She was always nice and pleasant when we were shopping at Sears Bonnie Doon and we seen her. Our prayers and sympathy are with you at this difficult time. We are sorry that we will not be able to make it to the funeral as I fell and injured my ankle and am just hobbling around in pain. All our best to you and your families. Jerry and Lillian Wilk (Henry's friends)

My deepest love and thoughts to the entire Lang family from myself , my family and my parents. You were such a beautiful soul - an amazing friend to my parents they loved you so much. Every time I saw you , you always showed me so much love and kindness. My most favorite memory of you is making my bridesmaid dress looking like a poof into a beautiful dress. I was happy I saw you at the polish hall on Remembrance Day and I got to talk with you. May you rest in peace Pani Lang. Love Ala and family and Walter and Wanda Szwender.
