William "Bill" Engel

Condolences to Sheila and family and to Bill,s many friends and all of the musicians who have shown up on Sunday Jams to be a part of something special. Bill, you were like a brother to me and you will be missed. Sunday Jams just won.t be the same without you. Newcastle Pub was truly the Church of Willy James. A very special man is gone way too soon. Play on up in the wild Blue Yonder brother.

I met Bill again in 2015 at the Lynn Chewyl fundraiser. He was so charming and warm hearted. A true humanitarian and wonderful musician. Since my son passed my faith has been restored. I always wanted to believe in the 'Great Gig in the Sky'. I know now it is real and that we will all again make music together this time no music business politics. Like my boy Robin, Bill will always be with us and continue to watch over you and guide those in need. His great spirit will inspire and comfort as his journey in the heavenly worlds continues. My condolences to you Sheila and to your family who will feel his physical loss to the extreme. However, you don't have to move on.. grief is it's own force and we just learn to cope.. it is knowing my son isn't dead.. his soul cannot die that is the way I cope and he shows me over and over that he is with me. I feel him in my heart. I know you know this. Love can never pass away. Nancy Nash

Sheila and the rest of the family, my most sincere condolences. Willie was one of the most kind and caring people I have ever met. I can only imagine your loss, but I think of him often and sense a great loss as well.

Willy was a wonderful and supportive person. His longtime gift he did for the Edmonton music community, with the Sunday open stage he co-hosted, will remain in the minds of people, for years to come. My sincere condolences to his loving wife Sheila and their families. Were all going to miss Willy.
